We’ve got your back!
Did you know the National Institute of Health has determined that back pain is the most common reason for missed work? Everyday tasks as simple as changing the laundry from the washer to the dryer may be causing harm to the muscles, tendons and bones in the back. It has been found that many people diagnosised with a back injury often do not know what their injury really is (what is a bulging disc?).
The MLCPT “We’ve got your back!” back school provides patients with information on protecting their back, explanations of common back injuries and simple ways to prevent injury or re-injury to their backs.
This fun interactive 2 hour class is covered by most insurances and tailored to each patients individual work, home, and recreational. Classes run once a month and require preregistration.
Patients learn:
Spine anatomy
Common spinal injuries
How to perform daily activities safely
How utilizing proper body mechanics can help prevent injury or further injury to the back
