Mary Lou Corcoran PT Founder Mary Lou is the founder of Mary Lou Corcoran Physical & Aquatic Therapy, Upper Extremity and Hand Physical Therapy Center and the Sports Performance Center. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College /Albany Medical College. In 1988, Mary Lou opened the practice with one employee, her mother, Sally Corcoran, and the practice has now grown to over 35 employees. Mary Lou shares, with her staff, the philosophy of quality driven care combined with personalized attention, to meet the needs of the individual and the community, as a basis for clinical excellence. This highly regarded philosophy is evident through the many physicians and medical providers that refer their patients to the staff at MLC Physical Therapy. Mary Lou graduated from Fayetteville – Manlius High School and has formed many close relationships in the central New York area as a friend and healthcare professional. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and New York Physical Therapy Association. Mary Lou lives in Cazenovia and enjoys water sports and biking, as well as alpine and cross country skiing. |

Elizabeth Kiggins MPT Director of Physical Therapy Liz earned her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Liz has worked at Mary Lou Corcoran for over 7 years, and plays an integral part in the visionary planning for growth of the practice and quality of care. In addition to her administrative role, Liz continues to treat patients using a variety of intervention tools. Her continuing education includes a repertoire of manual therapy techniques from the International American Academy of Orthopedic Medicine for upper cervical spine and headaches, Maitland-Australian approach for extremities, cervico-thoracic manual therapy injury, and McKenzie Method for low back mechanical diagnosis and treatment. She has also completed continuing education for vestibular rehabilitation, Pilates, functional training for athletes, movement impairment diagnosis and treatment, core control and lumbar stabilization, and geriatric orthopedics. In her free time, Liz is an active alpine ski patroller at Toggenburg Mountain and enjoys spending time with her family.

Troy S. Andrews, PT Troy holds a Bachelors of Science degrees for Physical Therapy from SUNY Health Science Center and for Physical Education from SUNY Cortland. Troy’s clinical specialties include advances in evaluation and rehabilitation for the shoulder, hip and knee, thoracic and lumbar spine utilizing manual therapy techniques and McKenzie Method treatment, medical and sports soft tissue massage and Postural Restoration: Alignment and Function. Professional highlights include successful rehabilitation and sports readiness training for Collegiate All-American athletes in Division I,II,III, professional, semi-pro and local PGA athletes. Troy’s personal passion in golf and his expansive background and training for golf rehabilitation, performance and fitness have allowed him to understand the needs for athletes of all levels. Troy’s applies his insight with golf performance for post-rehabilitation, biomechanical and functional retraining at the Sports Performance Center. When Troy is not working, he is kept active with his son’s soccer and basketball games. |

Kristin M. Matthys PT Kristin is a Russell Sage College graduate with almost 20 years of clinical experience, which has resulted in a strong passion for women’s health rehabilitation. Kristin’s extensive clinical background focuses on the diagnosis and treatment for symptoms related to pregnancy and post-partum, addressing the postural and muscle dysfunctions. Kristin’s expertise in women’s health also extends to breast cancer rehabilitation including recovery from mastectomy, lumpectomy and reconstruction surgery. Her clinical interventions for her patients include manual soft tissue mobilization, trigger point release, core stabilization, vestibular rehabilitation, postural restoration for upper body dysfunction and lumbo-pelvic-femoral patho-mechanics. In her free time, Kristin enjoys cross country skiing, pilates and playing with her three children. |

Sherry Moser, MPT, Sherry earned her Bachelor of Science for Health Science and Masters Degree for Physical Therapy from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse NY. Her post professional education includes McKenzie treatment for the spine and Myokinematic Restoration: Treatment of Patterned Lumbo-Pelvic-Femoral Pathomechanics. Sherry’s brings her knowledge and expertise in neuroscience, lifelong fitness and women’s health to her patients’ successful rehabilitation and return to function. She has taught various senior fitness classes for strength, flexibility, balance and fitness screening. Sherry is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, canoeing, kayaking, cross country skiing and spending time with her family. |

Julie C. Randall PT ,CSCS Julie graduated from Daemen College with her Bachelor of Science Degree for Physical Therapy and is a nationally certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Julie’s continuing education focuses on orthopedic rehabilitation for the shoulder, McKenzie treatment for the spine, manual therapy techniques, and Myokinematic Restoration. Her clinical approaches concentrate on treating the body as a whole, addressing core control and postural imbalances. Julie’s athletic background, coupled with her professional expertise, provides a specialized knowledge base when treating the endurance athlete, showing proven outcomes while addressing their individual needs. Julie is an active runner, marathoner and tri-athlete and has competed in the 27.5 mile Inca Trail Marathon in Peru and the Honolulu marathon. Recently Julie finished 8th for her age in the Westchester Olympic distance triathlon and plans to compete in more triathlons. |

Julie M. Wallace MPT Julie obtained her Masters in Physical Therapy from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY and has concentrated her orthopedic experience in sports medicine and geriatric fitness. Julie’s professional continuing education includes McKenzie treatment for the spine, manual therapy and mobilization techniques including mulligan concept, proprioceptive and plyometric training. Julie enjoys working with all orthopedic diagnosis’s including sports and repetitive use injuries, post-surgical and spinal dysfunction. When Julie is not working, she is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, horseback riding and spending time with her family. |

Robert Wolfe PT, CSCS Rob is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo earning his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Rob utilizes a hands-on treatment approach for the spine and upper/lower limb problems, focusing on the body as a whole by addressing posture and the core. Rob’s extensive continuing education includes McKenzie treatment for cervical and lumbar spine, Postural Restoration: An integrated approach to treatment of upper half musculoskeletal and respiratory dysfunction and Myokinematic Restoration: Treatment of Patterned Lumbo-Pelvic-Femoral Pathomechanics and recent advances in the evaluation and treatment of shoulder and knee. Rob also utilizes medical and orthopedic massage techniques, active isolated stretching: The Mattes Method and the total body functional profile by Gary Gray. Rob is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. |

Kelly Zawacki, PT Kelly is a graduate from Daemen College in Buffalo, NY with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Kelly’s extensive clinical background includes evaluation and treatment for muscle imbalances in musculoskeletal & sports injuries for cervical, thoracic, lumbar and pelvic regions, Swiss Ball lumbar stabilization, McKenzie Method diagnosis and treatment of the spine, manual therapy techniques including muscle energy, nervous system mobilization, myofascial release and Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization (ASTM) and aquatic therapy. Kelly’s knowledge of the spine and ergonomics is spread through her presentations to patients and industries regarding spinal anatomy, mechanics and ergonomics. Kelly has taught physicians classes regarding spinal anatomy, mechanics, surgical diagnosis and principles and treatment of muscle imbalances in musculoskeletal and sports injuries of the spine. |

Maureen Sloan
Maureen received her Master’s of Exercise Science from Syracuse University and Bachelor of Exercise Science from University of Delaware. Her fitness background includes instruction for health screening, physical assessment, body composition analyses and research for cardiac performance in children and adolescents. Maureen provides additional support in the gym for post-rehab clients and upholds a friendly and caring atmosphere for patients. |

Jessica Knox PT, DPT, ATC Jessica’s undergraduate work began in Brockport and Potsdam NY with her Bachelor of Science for Physical Education and Athletic Training and Master of Science for Physical Therapy from Clarkson University which eventually lead to a Transitional Doctorate for Physical Therapy from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse NY. Jessica has developed a strong background for orthopedic and sports injury with emphasis on McKenzie Method treatment of the spine, vestibular rehabilitation and aquatic therapy. Jessica’s thesis for her doctorate was a Case Report on “Use of Aquatic Therapy as an Intervention in the Acute Inflammatory Stages of Rheumatoid Arthritis”. Jessica is a member of the Sports Medicine Committee at the Arnot Health Human Motion Institute, American Physical Therapy Association and National Athletic Trainer’s Association. |

Kevin Reistrom MPT CSCS Kevin completed his undergraduate work at Syracuse University with a Bachelors of Science in Health and Exercise Science, leading to a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Kevin’s clinical training includes McKenzie diagnosis and treatment of the spine, Myokinematic Restoration, sports rehabilitation and aquatic therapeutic exercise. Kevin knowledge and professional training have made him an integral part of the aquatic physical therapy team, treating patients in the aquatic medium with successful transition to land based physical therapy. Kevin is a nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. |

Mary Anne Kelley Certified Swim Instructor Mary Anne earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Nazarath College in Psychology with a minor in early childhood development and Gerontology. Mary Anne’s professional experience includes working extensively with emotionally and physical impaired children of all ages. Her commitment to children and exercise has lead her to develop the aquatic Making Waves program which she founded at Mary Lou Corcoran Physical Therapy. She is certified for aquatic instruction through the Aquatic Exercise Association and applies her training and enthusiasm during the adult water yoga classes she instructs in the warm and relaxing environment of our therapeutic pool. |

Janet Murphy, PT, Certified Hand Therapist Hand Therapy Director Janet earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy with a minor in psychology at Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. In 1998, Janet earned the designation as a Certified Hand Therapy Specialist as a result of advanced training, independent study and completion of thousands of clinical hours. Janet’s training, combined with over 19 years of clinical experience, assist her with interventions for the intricacy and complexity of dysfunctions that affect the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Through her excellent rapport with local orthopedics and hand surgeons, Janet has established a team approach to diagnosis, injury prevention and treatment of the upper extremity. Janet’s reputation has led to various educational presentations including SUNY Health Science Center residents and hand fellows regarding treatment of the upper extremity and dysfunctions, Arthritis Foundation’s Wellness Symposium and various local physicians regarding hand therapy. Central to treatment for repetitive stress and work related injuries, Janet has a strong philosophy for injury prevention, patient education and ergonomic training which she incorporates into her treatment planning. When she is not working, Janet is an avid gardener and enjoys cooking gourmet meals for her family. |

Melissa Rothfeld PT Melissa is a graduate from Daemen College earning a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Melissa’s background is primarily in outpatient orthopedics and is currently working towards her goal for Certified Hand Therapist Specialist as part of the team in the Hand Center. Melissa’s professional continuing education includes evaluation and treatment for wrist and hand, manual therapy for cervical spine and upper extremity, McKenzie Method evaluation and treatment for lumbar and cervical spine, Sports Performance & Injury Prevention and Myokinematic Restoration and Aquatic Therapy. Carol Sames, PhD Exercise Physiologist. Carol’s undergraduate degrees include a Bachelors of Arts from Penn State in Arts & Science with a Physical Education minor and Masters of Science from Westchester University in Exercise Science, leading to her Doctorate from Syracuse University in Teaching & Leadership in Exercise Physiology. Carol has contributed to numerous articles and abstracts for Journal of Neuroscience, Metabolism, Medicine & Science in Sports and Exercise. Carol applies her research knowledge in the development of Xceed Limits, our specialized athletic program for female athletes, which targets core strength and functional training to enhance sports performance and prevent injuries. |

Andrews, Certified Golf Instructor Troy received his Bachelor of Science degrees from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Physical Therapy and from SUNY Cortland in Physical Education with a minor in adult fitness, exercise science and athletic training. Troy is a golf teaching professional, certified through the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF) and a golf rehab, post-rehab and performance instructor, with credentials from Fit fore Golf, GOLO Golf Performance, Fitness Golfer and Functional Golf Links. Troy has combined his professional expertise and experience working with golfers of all levels including PGA professionals in developing the MLC Golf Performance Tour, a three-phase system based on worldwide recognized GoLo Golf Institute. |

Moshe Marko PT MHS, CSCS Moshe earned his Bachelor of Physical Therapy from Tel-Aviv University in Israel and is currently working toward his doctorate in Exercise Science at Syracuse University. Aside from a clinician, he is a member of the faculty at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse in the Physical Therapy Department and is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. His research interests encompass fitness testing and exercise prescription for all fitness levels. As part of the Fitness Laboratory at the Sports Performance Center, Moshe utilizes proven testing tools including the Short Physical Performance Battery and Senior Fitness Test which evaluates the functional fitness performance of older adults. Testing methods for young adults and athletes are based on research-based tests from the American College of Sports Medicine and include speed, power, agility, sub-max aerobic and muscle endurance. |

Sally Hootnick Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor. Sally is certified in one of the most comprehensive training programs in the field, as a STOTT Certified Instructor. She is certified in both Mat and Reformer and has specialty training for prenatal, back care, golf and tennis sports specific and Pilates for seniors. Sally inspires her clients to achieve a sense of well being with improved core strength and stability and restoration of the natural curves of the spine . Sally offers group, duet mat sessions and individual equipment sessions for clients. |

Elissa Rozanski Certified STOTT PILATES Instructor Elissa is STOTT Pilates certified in mat and reformer and has earned numerous separate certification from STOTT for injuries, post rehabilitation, special conditions and sports specific for golf and tennis athletes. She maintains a current knowledge of Pilates through workshops at the STOTT headquarters in Toronto, Canada every year providing a contemporary foundation for her clients. Elissa is a competitive tennis player for the United States Tennis Association and is also Assistant Director of The Dance Studio locally in Manlius, NY. Elissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Nutrition. |

Karen Menter Pilates Instructor Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts in dance from Butler University. Karen is first and for-most a dancer, dancing professionally for national known teachers and choreographers. She teaches ballet locally at Syracuse University’s Musical theater department and continues to train annually in New York City. Karen is teacher trained in STOTT Pilates and certified in active isolated stretch the Mattes Method. Karen is actively involved in many statewide arts organizations, as well as creating movement curriculums in pre-school and elementary schools. Karen blends her dancing background and knowledge with her Pilates training during her Mat sessions at MLC Sports Performance Center. |
